About The Position

The Calvin University School of Business (CUSB) is seeking a full-time faculty member in marketing to begin July 1, 2027. The university is looking for candidates with a strong Christian faith who can integrate their faith into their field of study. There are two potential tracks: Tenure-track, requiring a PhD or terminal degree in marketing or a related field, with expectations for teaching excellence, research, and publications. Professor of Practice, requiring a practice-oriented degree (master's or above) and at least five years of distinguished professional experience, with expectations for teaching, maintaining professional practice, and university service. Preference will be given to candidates with strong business community networks, experience in guiding experiential learning, diverse teaching methods, interdisciplinary interests, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to integrate ethics and meaning into coursework.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or other terminal degree in marketing or a related discipline (ABD candidates will also be considered) for the tenure-track.
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or master’s level (for tenure-track).
  • Have an active stream of relevant research and publications (for tenure-track).
  • Hold a practice-oriented degree (master’s or above) and experience in a prior career (of at least five years) of distinguished professional achievement for the Professor of Practice track.
  • Meet the qualifications for teaching (for Professor of Practice).
  • Affirm commitment to the educational mission of Calvin University as a Christian liberal arts university in the Reformed tradition, affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.
  • Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communication across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to, race, gender, physical limitations, class, or religious perspectives.
  • A one-page letter of application that addresses your ability to fulfill the requirements and responsibilities of the position.
  • A 250 to 500-word statement describing your Christian faith and explaining your interest in teaching and scholarship at a Reformed Christian University.
