About The Position

The Calvin University School of Business (CUSB) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty member in finance to begin July 1, 2027, pending administrative approval. The university seeks applicants with a vibrant Christian faith who are dedicated to integrating their faith with their field of study. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or master’s level and have an active stream of relevant research and publication. Calvin University provides numerous faculty development opportunities to foster growth in these commitments. The CUSB has approximately 900 students enrolled across its eight undergraduate majors and two graduate programs. All programs feature significant elements of experiential learning along with strong academic components. Our business graduates enjoy extremely high placement rates locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. CUSB faculty members have extensive industry and teaching experience, and most hold terminal degrees. Faculty value creativity and teamwork in helping students learn and gain hands-on experience with the business community. Approximately 3,600 Calvin students study the liberal arts and select from a broad range of majors and professional programs. The university is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Requirements

Hold a PhD or other terminal degree in finance (ABD candidates and candidates with a master’s degree and a minimum of five years of finance experience will also be considered)
Demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or master’s level
Have an active stream of relevant research and publication
Affirm the Christian faith as expressed by the Reformed confessions
Have academic and personal qualifications for teaching and scholarship
Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communication across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to, race, gender, physical limitations, class, or religious perspectives.
