About The Position

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (Lazaridis School) at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for at least two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in the Finance area, commencing July 1, 2027. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics has over 150 full-time faculty and more than 6000 undergraduate and graduate students on campuses in Waterloo and Brantford, and Milton, Ontario. With a mission to achieve excellence in management education, the school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including Honours BBA, MBA, MFin, MMA and PhD. Requirements

• Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or related fields (ABD near completion before July 1, 2027 will be considered)
• Strong record or promise in both research and teaching within the finance discipline
• Open to all areas of finance

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated research potential in the field of Finance, as evidenced by top-tier journal publications and R&Rs, presentations at top-tier conferences, best paper awards, or other indicators of a strong research trajectory;
• Ability (a) to publish in top-tier business journals and (b) to maintain a highly productive research agenda;
• Ability to effectively teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA, MFin, and PhD) levels;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate the relevance of their research to a business audience.
