About The Position

AssemblyAI is seeking a Marketing Coordinator for its San Francisco office. This role is designed for an organized and ambitious individual who thrives on execution, enjoys being involved in key activities, and excels at managing complex logistics. The position will encompass responsibilities in field marketing, community engagement, campaign execution, and light office coordination. It offers an opportunity to develop into a strong marketing operator capable of translating clear direction into organized and effective action. The role exists to support the expansion of AssemblyAI's field marketing programs in the Voice AI market, focusing on sponsoring third-party events, organizing executive dinners and experiences, and hosting community meetups. This role will act as a force multiplier for the marketing team, enabling a higher volume of events, strengthening local community presence, and providing execution support for campaigns and operations.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a marketing, events, or operations role (internships and contract work count)
  • Strong organizational skills—you track tasks, details, and timelines without dropping things
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication; you can coordinate across multiple stakeholders without friction
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities
  • Based in San Francisco; comfortable being in-person regularly
  • Fluent with AI tools in your day-to-day work—you use them to work faster and smarter, not as a crutch
  • Proactive communicator who flags issues early and closes the loop without being asked

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting events, field marketing, or community programs
  • Familiarity with tools like Iterable, Luma, looker
  • Experience at a startup or high-growth tech company
  • Exposure to email marketing operations, campaign coordination, or lifecycle programs
  • Background in community coordination, developer events, or brand activations
  • Experience in AI/ML, voice tech, or developer-facing products (a genuine plus, not a requirement)

Responsibilities

  • Help coordinate local community meetups and lighter-weight activations in San Francisco.
  • Own invite management, RSVP tracking, reminders, venue coordination, materials prep, and post-event follow-up.
  • Support relationship-building with community members, local partners, creators, and attendees.
  • Help make SF-based community motions more consistent and easier to run at volume.
  • Be physically present at events to support setup, registration, and on-the-ground execution.
  • Support email campaign execution—including list coordination, QA, asset organization, and execution follow-through.
  • Contribute to recurring campaign workflows that keep marketing programs running smoothly and consistently.
  • Assist with campaign setup and tracking across event, lifecycle, community, and brand work.
  • Learn marketing tools like Iterable (or similar) and contribute to process improvement over time.
  • Help get our SF office environment set up and running smoothly.
  • Coordinate ongoing office needs—supplies, organization, vendor relationships, and light upkeep.
  • Be the in-person connective tissue for our SF presence, especially during team visits and hosted events.
  • Work with field marketing, growth, lifecycle, community, and brand teammates to keep projects moving.
  • Bring structure and follow-through to ambiguous situations—flag blockers, close loops, keep stakeholders informed.
  • Operate comfortably in an environment where priorities move quickly and clear direction matters.
