About The Position

Exceptional Healthcare is building a new Community Hospital in Rapid City, a state-of-the-art facility bringing high-quality care to the region. This is a launch role for a Marketing Liaison who will lead community engagement and growth strategy. The position involves introducing a new hospital to the market, building referring physician relationships before opening, and establishing brand presence in a region with a dominant existing provider. The role combines strategic marketing with hands-on community building, and the individual will help shape the community's experience of a new healthcare option.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum five years in business development, marketing, or community relations; healthcare environment strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting growth or volume targets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to move comfortably between physician offices, community boardrooms, and hospital leadership meetings
  • Strategic thinker who is also willing to do the hands-on work of a startup environment
  • Strong understanding of healthcare service lines and how patients choose providers
  • Active driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and travel locally for events and meetings

  • Established relationships in the Rapid City or western South Dakota healthcare community a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Build the hospital's market presence in Rapid City and surrounding communities ahead of and through grand opening
  • Develop and execute the pre-opening community engagement plan, including ribbon-cutting, facility tours, open houses, and partnership events
  • Establish referring physician relationships across primary care, specialty practices, and regional clinics to drive patient volume from day one
  • Maintain current data on the Rapid City market, competitors, and referral patterns; adjust strategy based on what the data shows
  • Identify and capitalize on community partnership opportunities, sponsorships, and civic engagement
  • Work directly with hospital leadership and clinical service line leads to promote new programs and services as they come online
  • Coordinate with corporate marketing to localize brand campaigns for the Rapid City market
  • Manage the hospital's local social media presence and create content that speaks to the community we serve
  • Represent the hospital at chamber events, healthcare networking forums, and community programs
  • Track and report on patient volume, referral source performance, and growth against quarterly targets
  • Participate in hospital leadership and growth planning meetings
