About The Position

The Market Clerk sells sundries, Schweitzer-branded merchandise, ice cream, beer, bottled liquor, and other beverages. The role requires compliance with Idaho state laws regarding alcohol sales, and applicants must be at least 21 years old. The position is seasonal and available to returning staff for Winter 2026–2027. The clerk must be available to work weekends and holidays, and work hours extend beyond lift operations.

The role requires friendly, professional customer service; accurate age verification for alcohol purchases; proactive attention to operational needs with minimal supervision; accurate cash handling and daily till balancing; restocking; and maintaining a clean, organized, presentable work area. Employees must be able to stand or walk for up to 10 hours per shift and regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Schweitzer will help the employee acquire an Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• English reading, writing, and communication skills are required.
• Basic computer knowledge and comfort using a computer-based point-of-sale system are required; Squirrel is the current system.
• Able to stand or walk for up to 10 hours per shift.
• Able to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must comply with Idaho state laws regarding alcohol sales.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months of experience in a cash-handling position, preferably in retail.
• Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate; the employer will help the employee acquire it.

Responsibilities
