About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for Marker-Grader positions in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course Women, Gender and the Economy. Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. The Collective Agreement governs part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.

Requirements

  • A major average of at least 80% or better
  • Knowledge of the course subject matter is required
  • Ability to perform the various duties of the position (past experience as a Marker-Grader, relevant work experience and/or academic recommendation)
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the subject area
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
  • May be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
