About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the Introduction to Indigenous Studies course (INDG 1F90) for the Fall/Winter D1-1 academic term. This position involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Compensation is based on the highest degree completed, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The position is governed by the CUPE4207-1 Collective Agreement.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or completed a relevant university degree program
  • Experience with Indigenous studies and Indigenous research methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous paradigms
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
  • Potentially enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor.
