About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the SCIS 1P50 course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The marker-grader will be responsible for assessing student work and providing written feedback. Compensation is based on the highest degree completed, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Requirements
- Must have completed SCIS 1P50 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
- Graduate of or Major in Chemistry with a minimum major average of 75%.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
- Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course.
- Potentially enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
