About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for Marker-Grader positions within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group for the CHEM 3P41 Winter D3-1 course. Compensation for Marker-Grader positions is based on the employee's qualifications, with different hourly rates effective September 1, 2026, for those who have completed a Master's Degree, an Undergraduate Degree, or specific years of an undergraduate honors degree. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. Additionally, marker-graders may be asked to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases at the instructor's request. Requirements

  • Must have completed CHEM 3P41 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
  • Graduate of or Major in Chemistry with a minimum major average of 75%.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
