About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker Grader for the MBAB 5P01 - Accounting for Decision-Making I course. The course covers the functional basics of accounting for management and business decisions, including data collection, classification, processing, and interpretation. Compensation for Marker-Grader positions is based on the employee's qualifications, with different hourly rates for various completed degree levels. Positions are subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval. The Collective Agreement governs part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator, and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.
Requirements
- Must have completed MBAB 5P01 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher
- Graduate of or Major in Accounting with a minimum major average of 75%
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, whether due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
- May be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
