About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker Grader (MBAB 5P30) for the Fall D2 term. The course, MBAB 5P30-Assurance I, covers principles and theories of auditing, ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities of the auditor, the nature of verification, audit evidence, testing, the elements of effective control structures, the use of statistical sampling, and the evolution of external, internal, and comprehensive auditing. It also involves the application of professional judgment and the integration of auditing across the organization. Compensation for Marker-Grader positions is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Positions are subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval. The Collective Agreement governs part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator, and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.

Requirements

Must have completed MBAB 5P30 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
Graduate of or Major in Accounting with a minimum major average of 75%.
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.

Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, whether due to substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, or overall structure and organization.
May be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course.
May be expected to enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor.
