About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the Work, Labour and Film course (LABR 2P97) for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The marker-grader will be responsible for marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, and/or final exams, providing written feedback to students, and potentially invigilating mid-terms and examinations or entering grades into databases. Compensation is based on the highest degree completed, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Requirements

  • Completed 4-year Honours degree in Labour Studies or equivalent
  • A major average of at least 80% or better
  • Ability to perform the various duties of the position (experience as a Marker/Grader, relevant work experience and/or academic recommendation)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Potentially invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course.
  • Potentially enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
