About The Position

Brock University is seeking Marker-Graders for HLSC 4P04 Fall D2. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. Duties may also include invigilating mid-terms and examinations, and entering grades into databases, as requested by the course instructor. Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Available to provide feedback in person and, when required, online.
  • Proficiency with online delivery tools (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams, Brightspace), computer spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and electronic audience response systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Brock fourth year (honours) students in Health Sciences or related discipline will be considered if vacancies remain.
  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
  • Completion of this course within the last three years is an asset.
  • Experience or training with online synchronous and asynchronous course support.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
