About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Marker/Grader for the COSC 2P89 Internet Technologies course for the Fall 2026 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing clear written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be required to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Compensation is based on the highest completed degree or year of undergraduate study, with rates effective September 1, 2026.
Requirements
- Must have completed COSC 2P89 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher.
- Graduate of or Major in Computer Science with a minimum major average of 75%.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned.
- Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, if requested.
- Enter grades into databases, if requested.

- Compensation based on qualifications (Master’s Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
