About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course COSC 1P02 Introduction to Computer Science. Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, mid-terms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission. The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
Requirements
- Must have completed COSC 1P02, COSC 1P03 and COSC 2P03 (or equivalents in English) and attained a grade of 75% or higher in all.
- Graduate of or Major in Computer Science with a minimum major average of 75%.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, mid-terms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
- Provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned.
- Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
- Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
