Marine Service Advisor | Marine Service Writer | Boat Service Advisor
About The Position
River Valley Marine is hiring an experienced Marine Service Advisor to join our award-winning dealership serving the Lake Minnetonka boating community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers, solving problems, and building long-term relationships. You'll be the link between our customers and technicians—guiding boat owners through repairs, maintenance, seasonal service, and accessories while helping them get back on the water as quickly as possible. Whether your experience comes from marine, automotive, RV, powersports, or another dealership environment, if you love boating and enjoy delivering outstanding customer service, we'd love to meet you.
Requirements
- Passion for boating, fishing, watersports, and lake life
- Previous experience as a Marine Service Advisor, Marine Service Writer, Boat Service Advisor, Boat Service Writer, Automotive Service Advisor, RV Service Writer, Powersports Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, or similar dealership professional
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to explain technical information in a way customers understand
- Positive, team-first attitude
- Valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Experience with marine engines, marina operations, Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, Lightspeed EVO, warranty administration, or dealership software is a plus.
- New to the Marine Industry? Many of our successful Service Advisors came from automotive, RV, and powersports dealerships. If you already understand dealership operations and have a genuine passion for boating, we'll help you learn the marine side.
Responsibilities
- Help customers with repairs, maintenance, diagnostics, commissioning, winterization, storage, and seasonal service
- Write repair orders, service estimates, and schedule appointments
- Coordinate repairs with technicians and communicate progress with customers
- Recommend marine parts, accessories, and maintenance solutions
- Support the Parts Department during seasonal demand
- Process warranty documentation and maintain accurate dealership records using Lightspeed EVO
- Build long-term relationships that create loyal River Valley Marine customers
