About The Position

The Manufacturing Test Technician collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and operations personnel on pressure vessel assembly and testing as part of overall AUV integration milestones. The role configures devices by flashing and loading specified software and firmware versions onto target hardware, and builds, tests, and integrates complex electrical and mechanical assemblies into AUV systems. The technician executes detailed subsystem End-of-Line (EOL) tests using prepared procedures and documentation, conducts incoming quality inspection testing on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, electronic, and integrated circuits down to the component level. The role also supports refinement, documentation, and continuous improvement of pressure vessel production and test processes. Additional duties include maintaining 5S standards in test areas, inspecting parts, closing assigned work orders, following facility safety protocols, and assisting with equipment upkeep, calibration tracking, tooling organization, and lab inventory. Travel support for offshore field operations, testing, or vessel trials may be required according to project needs.

Requirements

  • Solid technical background in electronics within relevant industries such as robotics, defense, aerospace, or avionics.
  • Proven track record of preparing, setting up, and executing rigorous test procedures with high attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of core electrical engineering concepts and circuit theory.
  • Proficiency in reading and working from technical documentation, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to hardware reliability, test integrity, and personal accountability for deliverables.
  • Hands-on proficiency with standard electrical test equipment, including DMMs, oscilloscopes, benchtop power supplies, and function generators.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and detail-oriented technical execution skills.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative, adaptability, and drive toward project deadlines.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in subsea robotics, including AUVs, UUVs, or marine/underwater equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience safely handling electrical systems operating up to 400VDC.
  • Hands-on subsea cable splicing, potting, or custom harness fabrication experience.
  • Experience with hydrostatic test setups, pressure vessels, and/or high-pressure pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Current or past IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications.
  • Familiarity with low-volume, high-mix manufacturing or prototype-to-production environments.
