About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists on autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) assembly and integration. The role builds, integrates, and tests complex electromechanical assemblies; installs and services high-reliability cabling and wiring harnesses; and fabricates or modifies parts and components as needed. The technician supports vehicle development and manufacturing throughout the lifecycle, providing technical feedback to engineering and helping develop, document, and improve assembly workflows. The position also supports manufacturing-area organization and maintenance, and may involve offshore travel for field operations and testing as required.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant mechanical or assembly experience in automotive, marine, aerospace, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with standard fabrication processes, basic hand and power tools, and plastic or metal component manufacturing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, professionally, and cross-functionally.
  • Foundational understanding of hardware manufacturing lifecycles.
  • Experience working from technical documentation, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Commitment to high build quality and personal accountability for deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • High initiative, adaptability, and focus on meeting project timelines.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in subsea robotics, including AUVs, UUVs, or marine/underwater systems.
  • Prior material handling or hoisting experience, or Massachusetts or Rhode Island state hoisting credentials for overhead gantry or rigging.
  • Experience working safely around electrical components up to 400VDC.
  • Proficiency with electrical debugging and test equipment, such as digital multimeters.
  • Manual or CNC machining and/or 3D printing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists on AUV assembly and integration efforts.
  • Build, integrate, and test complex electromechanical assemblies for AUV platforms.
  • Route, install, and service high-reliability cabling and wiring harnesses.
  • Design, prototype, and build manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve build quality and test efficiency.
  • Fabricate and modify machined parts and commercial off-the-shelf components as needed.
  • Support all phases of the vehicle development and manufacturing lifecycle, providing technical feedback to engineering.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and optimizing assembly and build workflows.
  • Support the organization, maintenance, and flow of on-site manufacturing areas.
  • Provide potential offshore travel support for field operations and testing as required.
