The Quality Specialist will be fully imbedded within the manufacturing process to actively assist in providing resolution, containment, and improvement to nonconforming materials. This role involves managing the site Materials Review Board (MRB) process, reviewing manufacturing work instructions, and supporting inspectors with clarification or go/no-go decisions. The specialist will lead and own the execution of containment of nonconforming items, assist in root cause analysis, and manage internal triage with engineering teams to support nonconformance dispositions. Accurate data collection and entry for the MRB process are crucial, as is communicating process performance and quality issues to key stakeholders. The role also includes executing vendor return material authorization (RMA), managing quality containment for material, tooling, and inspection equipment, and creating inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and end-of-line inspections. Training technicians and inspectors, proposing and implementing quality assurance policies, reviewing continuous improvement projects, performing internal audits, and conducting deep dives into data and traceability investigations are also key responsibilities. Staying current with new inspection technologies and recommending improvements is expected.
