About The Position

The Manufacturing Operator works at Abbott’s Altavista, Virginia plant in the Abbott Nutrition division, which manufactures nutrition products for people of all ages. The position operates production equipment used to make Abbott nutrition products and performs related packaging-material inventory, documentation, quality, cleaning, and troubleshooting tasks. The operator is accountable for meeting applicable FDA and OSHA requirements and Abbott policies and procedures.

This is a night-shift position with example hours of 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on a rotating two-week schedule. The base pay is $19.05–$38.15 per hour; the posting notes that pay ranges may vary in specific locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of prior manufacturing experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.
• Experience with tools and equipment related to the position, or experience as a Senior Production Equipment Operator.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate complex and standard high-speed production equipment used to make nutrition products.
• Maintain inventory of packaging materials.
• Complete work order documentation.
• Perform quality checks.
• Clean equipment and the production environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Meet compliance standards, including FDA and OSHA requirements and Abbott policies and procedures.
