About The Position

The Manufacturing Lead supervises and coordinates the manufacturing team to help meet production schedules and maintain high product quality. The role supports the Manufacturing Supervisor with day-to-day operations, workflow coordination, assignment adjustments, and resolution of production issues. It also leads and develops team members, supports onboarding and training, and monitors individual and production-line performance. The Manufacturing Lead oversees quality checks, identifies process inefficiencies, implements approved improvements, and promotes 5S practices. The role helps maintain a safe and compliant work environment, communicates across teams and departments, prepares production records and reports, and assists with inventory and resource management. The work takes place in a manufacturing environment and includes regular use of personal protective equipment and physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, and pushing or pulling materials.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality-control standards.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to distinguish between colors, read fine print, and use depth perception to operate machinery safely.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and move frequently within the production area.
Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance or equipment.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, work in low positions or confined spaces, reach overhead and below shoulder level, and handle small parts and tools accurately.
Ability to push and pull carts, equipment, and materials.
Ability to regularly use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and safety shoes, and comply with PPE protocols.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and noise levels, with potential hazards, dust, fumes, and strong odors.
Endurance to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands, and remain alert during long shifts and high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor in coordinating manufacturing team activities and maintaining efficient workflow.
Monitor production schedules and help adjust assignments to meet production goals.
Ensure production processes follow company policies and safety standards.
Address production-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the production team and foster a collaborative work environment.
Assign tasks according to team members’ skills and production-line needs.
Track and evaluate individual and production-line performance.
Assist with onboarding and training employees on manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and company policies.
Oversee product quality, implement quality-control procedures, and conduct inspections to identify and correct defects.
Identify production inefficiencies and suggest improvements to productivity and cost.
Implement approved process changes and monitor their effectiveness.
Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns and assist with troubleshooting.
Promote and enforce 5S principles.
Enforce safety policies and procedures and support safety inspections and risk assessments.
Communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Prepare and maintain production reports, records, and documentation.
Assist in scheduling meetings, training sessions, and other events.
Help ensure raw materials and supplies are available for production and assist with inventory management to minimize waste and cost.
