About The Position

The Production Support / Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for ensuring smooth day‑to‑day manufacturing operations by providing technical expertise, process support, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor. This role acts as a bridge between Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues quickly, optimize production processes, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent technical experience may also be considered.
  • 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing, production engineering, or process support role.
  • Experience in industries such as electronics, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and production workflows.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC).

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time support to production lines by troubleshooting technical issues related to equipment, processes, tooling, or materials.
  • Analyze root causes of production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor production KPIs (yield, cycle time, scrap rate, throughput) and drive corrective actions where needed.
  • Develop, update, and optimize manufacturing process instructions, work instructions (WI), and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by preparing production readiness, tooling requirements, and pilot builds.
  • Validate and document process changes, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in PFMEA and control plan development.
  • Lead Lean / Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance ergonomics on the production floor.
  • Support implementation of 5S, visual management, and standardized work.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality team to manage non-conformances, deviations, and rework instructions.
  • Ensure production processes adhere to safety guidelines, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Provide training to operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, or quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of production processes, instructions, and change history.
  • Ensure workstations are always up to date with the latest controlled documents.
