Requirements

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to create and deliver Just-In-Time (JIT) training for production staff.
  • Top-notch interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, positive, and able to work effectively in teams.
  • Minimum of 1 year of optics manufacturing and/or optics testing or equivalent education.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or 4 year engineering or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the ME to determine engineering tasks, project timelines, and process pathways.
  • Support manufacturing teams by systematically resolving technical production issues.
  • Analyze process flows using Lean tools to improve quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Record improvement results accurately to ensure standardized, retrievable workflows.
  • Work closely with team members and fill in on the production line when needed.
  • Lead targeted improvement initiatives directed by the ME and Team Leaders.
  • Encourage teams to exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality.
  • Facilitate the 5-Why process and follow up on cell-specific corrective actions.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and vendors when the ME is unavailable.
