The Manufacturing Engineering Intern supports manufacturing engineering across medical device production process-improvement projects, from concept through process qualification and commissioning in production. The role includes completing engineering drawing changes, designing tests and data-collection methods, leading projects through implementation, and investigating production or process issues. The intern may also support production through observation, inspection, rework, and documenting procedure or process changes. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and active pursuit of a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, such as manufacturing or industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering. The work involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and electrical-shock risk. The usual noise level is moderate. Physical demands include lifting, stooping, kneeling, walking, fine motor coordination, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying that weight for short distances may be required occasionally.
