About The Position

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program, from initial concept through launch at a final assembly facility. The role applies lean manufacturing principles to develop high-quality, efficient processes and products. It includes developing tooling and facilities, leading virtual assembly builds, resolving manufacturing issues, and coordinating with Design and Release activities. The engineer develops formal assembly process instructions and enters process sheets into the VPS system; leads assembly tooling specification, purchasing, installation, start-up, and commissioning; and tracks tooling and process issues through closure. The role also supports dimensional quality, cycle-line layouts, workstation readiness, quality, cost, and labor improvements, and prepares management presentations. During launches, extensive travel and work in a plant environment—including standing and walking—are required. The position involves working under timing constraints and with minimal direct supervision. The position is hybrid. Candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub may be required to work onsite four or more days per week. Travel of up to 40–50% is required, including potential co-location at a North American assembly plant for nine or more months, depending on the vehicle launch.

  • Minimum of six months of manufacturing experience, including internships.
  • Willingness to travel and support launch activities at North American assembly plants in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Availability for travel, including co-location at a North American assembly plant for nine or more months depending on the scale of the vehicle launch.
  • At least one year of Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
