Manufacturing Engineer II, Paint & TPS

Relativity Space•Long Beach, CA
•$104,000 - $156,000

About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer II will own the application of Paint and Thermal Protection System materials from design release through successful installation on the Terran R launch vehicle. The role establishes build flows that support efficient, high-quality processes and can scale as production rates increase. The engineer drives first-build efforts and improves existing product lines through design integration, assembly sequencing, manufacturing bill of materials development, build work-order creation, and specification authoring. The role supports production personnel with responsive issue resolution, provides upstream feedback as manufacturing technology develops, monitors large-scale part movements, and gives clear direction to support safety. It also identifies and implements manufacturing capabilities to improve process capability, quality, and throughput, while partnering with Engineering, Build Reliability, Supply Chain, and external partners. Relativity Space’s Manufacturing team owns process development, fabrication strategy, and production equipment for Terran R. The team translates engineering requirements into optimized production lines and collaborates across the vehicle program.
