About The Position

Working full-time at Fastenal’s manufacturing facility in Loves Park, Illinois, the Manufacturing Customer Service Support employee provides day-to-day support to the Customer Service Department. The role involves communicating with customers, processing and confirming purchase orders, maintaining department paperwork and customer records, updating metrics, and completing special projects as directed by the Manager.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the work.
• Have prior administrative work experience.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Have knowledge of Inside Sales/Customer Service principles and practices.
• Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Be able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Demonstrate the company’s core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
• Pass the required drug screen in the US, Puerto Rico, or Guam.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers by telephone and email.
• Enter and confirm customer purchase orders.
• Maintain in-house filing of department paperwork.
• Maintain customer profiles in the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Work on special projects as directed by the Manager.
• Update department metrics daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
