About The Position
Language Trainers, an international language training company founded in 2004, is seeking a freelance Mandarin Chinese Teacher for two clients in Charlotte, NC 28202. The clients require separate, one-to-one general courses, each consisting of 30 hours of tuition. Lessons will be two hours long and held at the students' homes. The students are at a lower intermediate level, aged 25-34, and are motivated by family heritage. The preferred schedule includes availability on Saturdays around midday, Sundays after 12:00 pm, Mondays after 4:00 pm, and Thursdays after 4:30 pm. The position is part-time and freelance, with a negotiable hourly rate based on experience and qualifications. Schedule and location may be flexible.
Requirements
- Native Mandarin Chinese speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
- Possess a valid work permit/visa.
- Live within 20 miles of Charlotte, NC 28202.
- Ability to provide CV with references.
- Provide availability.
- Provide earliest possible start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide customized language training to professionals and private students.
- Conduct two-hour Mandarin Chinese lessons twice a week for two separate students.
- Travel to students' homes in Charlotte, NC 28202 for lessons.
- Adapt teaching methods to student's proficiency level (Lower Intermediate) and motivation (Family heritage).
