About The Position

Exponent is seeking a Managing Scientist for its Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Bowie, MD. This role involves working on scientific and engineering problems for clients, managing projects from initiation to completion, communicating project updates, ensuring timely and high-quality work product, and identifying business development opportunities. The position also includes working with government security-related products and projects, presenting findings to clients, supervising on-site activities, attracting new projects and clients, building and leading teams, mentoring technical staff, and providing project management and budget oversight.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with relevant work experience
  • 6+ years of post-graduation experience working in data analytics or data science
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship and the possession of or ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (required for U.S. Government contracts)
  • Ability to interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior problem-solving abilities
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to code data into appropriate graphical formats
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization programs such as Tableau or others
  • Prior government contracting experience
  • Experience with machine learning

  • Managing projects from initiation to completion
