About The Position

Exponent is seeking a Senior Managing Regulatory Scientist for its Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice, to be based in Sacramento, CA (other locations may be considered). This role involves project management and providing Federal and State regulatory and technical expertise. The successful candidate will lead projects, identify new clients, cultivate existing client relationships, and develop new business within the regulatory sector. Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a science-related field
  • Ten (10) or more years of EPA FIFRA/FFDCA pesticide regulatory experience
  • Knowledge, solid understanding, and practical experience with U.S. EPA FIFRA/FFDCA regulations and State regulations for pesticides and chemicals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to independently prepare, edit, and proofread technical and regulatory documents
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Federal and State pesticide registration strategy and regulatory support
  • Identifying new clients and new business marketing opportunities in related fields
  • Developing clients through business development and marketing efforts
  • Client management and project work; interacting directly with clients and regulators
  • Managing and tracking client projects, project deliverables, invoices, and budgets
  • Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for Federal and State pesticide-related projects
  • Synthesizing technical and regulatory information for clients and regulators
  • Providing scientific technical peer review
  • Mentoring junior staff
