About The Position
The Manager, Starbucks is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the licensed Starbucks café inside Macy’s. The Manager ensures an efficient, professional, safe, and profitable business while upholding Starbucks brand standards and Macy’s Foods Division expectations. The Manager oversees daily operations, drives sales and profitability, and fosters a positive, inclusive team culture. Through strong leadership, operational excellence, and partnership with both Starbucks and Macy’s leadership, the Manager delivers an exceptional customer experience and ensures the café consistently meets brand, quality, and financial goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of retail, restaurant, or food service management experience.
- ServSafe certification or a food handler permit as required by the applicable state or local health department.
- Ability to successfully obtain Barista Basics, Barista Trainer, Daily Ops, and LS Leader certifications for Starbucks Licensed leaders within the introductory period.
- Ability to perform essential job functions involving communication, collaboration, office and computer systems, access to written and electronic information, and movement within the work environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities
- Oversee café operations to maintain a safe, efficient, brand-right environment that meets Starbucks, Macy’s Foods Division, and Health Department standards.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop Supervisors and Baristas.
- Model Starbucks customer connection standards and Macy’s service expectations.
- Ensure food and beverage products are consistently prepared, presented, and merchandised according to Starbucks standards.
- Develop schedules and labor plans to optimize productivity, control costs, and maintain service levels.
- Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and invoice processing to meet food and beverage cost targets and budget.
- Review financial reports and take action to meet sales, expense, and profit goals.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, and keep the café clean and organized.
- Oversee cash handling and point-of-sale operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Partner with Macy’s leadership and Starbucks District Managers on strategy, goals, and operational priorities.
- Model professionalism, appropriate appearance, communication, and company values.
- Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
