About The Position

The Manager, Starbucks is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the licensed Starbucks café inside Macy’s Lenox Square Mall. The Manager ensures the café operates efficiently, professionally, safely, and profitably while upholding Starbucks brand standards and Macy’s Foods Division expectations. This role oversees daily operations, drives sales and profitability, and builds a positive, inclusive team culture. In partnership with Starbucks and Macy’s leadership, the Manager delivers an exceptional customer experience and ensures the café meets brand, quality, and financial goals.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of retail, restaurant, or food service management experience.
ServSafe certification or a food handler permit as required by the state or local health department.
Ability to successfully obtain Barista Basics, Barista Trainer, Daily Ops, and LS Leader certifications for Starbucks Licensed leaders within the introductory period.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.
Ability to perform essential job functions involving communication, collaboration, office and computer systems, accessing and reviewing written and electronic information, and moving within the work environment and interacting with workplace materials.
Skills in operational and financial management, including sales, expense, profitability, scheduling, cost control, inventory, vendor management, and data-driven decision-making.
Leadership and team development skills, including coaching, training, and retaining teams while fostering a positive, inclusive, productive environment.
Customer service skills to ensure Connect, Anticipate, Personalize, and Own service basics are met.
Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, recipe execution, sanitation, and health regulations.
Communication, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee café operations and maintain a safe, efficient, brand-right environment that meets Starbucks, Macy’s Foods Division, and Health Department standards.
Recruit, hire, train, and develop Supervisors and Baristas.
Model Starbucks customer connection standards and Macy’s service expectations.
Ensure food and beverage products are consistently prepared, presented, and merchandised according to Starbucks standards.
Develop schedules and labor plans to optimize productivity, control costs, and maintain service levels.
Manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and invoice processing to meet food and beverage cost targets and stay within budget.
Review financial reports and take action to meet sales, expense, and profit goals.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations and maintain a clean, organized café.
Oversee cash handling and point-of-sale operations and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Build partnerships with Macy’s leadership and Starbucks District Managers to align on strategy, goals, and operational priorities.
Model professionalism, appropriate appearance, communication, and company values.
Foster acceptance and respect and strengthen relationships and authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
