About The Position

The Service Center Manager at Roadtex Transportation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and staff supervision. This role ensures the efficient storage, handling, and distribution of time and temperature-sensitive goods, while strictly adhering to safety regulations and company policies. Roadtex, a leader in nationwide LTL, specializes in transporting such products, leveraging a network of 32 temperature-controlled facilities, state-of-the-art tracking, and specialized equipment. Acquired by Echo Global Logistics in 2022, Roadtex now integrates with Echo's truckload brokerage and transportation management solutions, enhancing its offerings with a national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation. The manager will play a crucial role in maintaining high operational standards and customer service within this integrated logistics environment.

Requirements

  • 5 years proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control.
  • Proven track record in leading a successful team.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.

  • Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of goods.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Ensure the warehouse layout optimizes space and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to manage stock levels and prevent shortages or excess.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.
  • Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff.
  • Schedule and supervise staff to ensure optimal performance and coverage.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards.
  • Implement and enforce safety training programs for warehouse staff.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to order processing or delivery.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and conveyors.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely and in accordance with regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order accuracy, and staff productivity.
  • Utilize data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to warehouse processes and procedures.
  • Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
