About The Position

The Manager Radiology, in cooperation with the Director Radiology, is accountable for planning, organizing, and administratively directing the daily clinical and business operations of the Radiology Department. The Manager oversees day-to-day operations and administrative and technical staff, including human resource functions, hiring, coaching, performance appraisals, and clinical competency. The role also manages the operational budget, purchasing, policies and procedures, contractual agreements, and compliance with regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field required.
Licensure as a radiology technologist with ARRT certification in CT and MRI.
At least five years of relevant professional experience, including at least two years of clinical patient care experience.
At least two years of experience as a lead or supervisor in radiology.
Expertise managing direct reports and overseeing the operations of a department or division.
Ability to lead a team while maintaining optimal efficacy and efficiency.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple concerns for resolution.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in a health-related field preferred.
Three years of experience as a lead or supervisor in radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for the Radiology Department and staff; organize, plan, and direct department activities; define personnel authority and responsibility; and delegate duties.
Apply working knowledge of radiology imaging principles, techniques, and ancillary equipment to daily operations, and remain current on technological and clinical advances in imaging.
Manage daily department operations, addressing issues related to patient access, scheduling, clinical care, morale, and other concerns; develop action plans to achieve operational goals and growth.
Support data collection for Performance Improvements, understand department performance trends and standards, and encourage staff contributions to Performance Improvement.
Work with the Director Radiology and Chair of Radiology to develop long-range operational plans for services; pursue revenue opportunities and cost savings without compromising quality or patient satisfaction.
Assist in preparing the budget, meet budgetary goals, develop recovery plans when variances occur, and review the budget and variances regularly with the Director Radiology.
Maintain quality assurance and quality control data to meet credentialing inspections and certifications, including ACR/FDA/MQSA, NAPBC, Joint Commission, and DOH requirements.
