About The Position

The Manager Radiology, in cooperation with the Director Radiology, is accountable for planning, organizing and administratively directing the daily clinical and business operations of the Radiology Department. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, including providing oversight of the administrative staff and technical staff which includes human resource functions, hiring, coaching, performance appraisals and ensuring clinical competency. The Manager will develop and manage the operational budget, purchasing, policies and procedures, and contractual agreements, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field required
  • Licensure as radiology technologist with acertification in CT and MRI from the ARRT.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience, including at least two (2) years of clinical patient care experience required.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience as a lead or supervisor in radiology.
  • This involves expertise managing direct reporting and overseeing the operations of a department or division.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead a team whilemaintaining optimal efficacy and efficiency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be capable of organizing and prioritizingmultiple concerns for resolution.
  • Must have great written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in a health-related field preferred.
  • three (3) years preferred as a lead or supervisor in radiology.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction for the Radiology Department and staff. Organizes, plans, and directs activities related to the Radiology Department. Clearly defines authority and responsibility for all personnel and delegates duties to staff members.
  • Demonstrates basic working knowledge of radiology imaging principles, techniques, and ancillary equipment as they apply to the daily operations of the department. Remains current on technological and clinical advances in imaging.
  • Manages the daily operations of the department by mediating problems relative to patient access, scheduling, clinical care, morale, and otherissues. Develops workable action plans to achieve operational goals and growth.
  • Supports and assists with data collection for Performance Improvements while understanding the department performance trends and standards. Encourages others to contribute to Performance Improvement.
  • Works with the Director Radiology and Chair of Radiology to develop long range operational plans relative to services. Pursues revenue opportunities and cost savings without compromising quality or patient satisfaction.
  • Assists in preparing the budget. Accountable for meeting budgetary goals. Develops action plans for recovery when variances occur. Reviews budget and variances regularly with the Director Radiology.
  • Responsible for maintaining data for quality assurance and quality control to meet credentialing inspections and certifications, such as but not limited to ACR/FDA/MQSA, NAPBC, Joint Commission, DOH etc.
