Manager, Planning & Strategic Operations (IC role)

Rubrik Job BoardPalo Alto, CA
$143,200 - $214,800

About The Position

Rubrik's Renewal Strategy & Operations team is responsible for protecting and growing one of the company's most valuable assets: subscription Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). This is a 0-to-1 build phase where the team is creating the operating system for this asset, including forecasting models, governance frameworks, quoting infrastructure, and playbooks. The role involves partnering directly with Sales, Finance, Deal Desk, Product, and IT leaders to design and implement scalable systems for renewal operations. The ideal candidate will have a strategic voice, understand renewals as a business, and focus on root cause analysis, leverage points, and scalable systems.

Requirements

  • Experience with structured problem-solving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Ability to act as an operator and builder, putting foundations under a business.
  • Structured, first-principles thinking to build frameworks and drive execution.
  • Strong independent project management instincts: ability to define scope, sequence dependencies, manage risk, and drive multiple concurrent initiatives without close oversight.
  • Strong communicator, effective presenting to senior leadership and working through details with analysts.
  • B.A./B.S. required.

  • Exposure to CPQ tools (Salesforce CPQ)
  • Exposure to forecasting platforms like Clari
  • Familiarity with SaaS renewal metrics (ARR, NRR, GRR, churn)

  • Shape how the business talks about renewals in QBRs and leadership reviews.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of how renewal workflows, forecasting models, and quoting frameworks are designed, including multi-year, co-term, and mid-term expansion structures built to maximize ARR retention at scale.
  • Build the playbooks, governance frameworks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Run quote governance and data quality as a discipline, root-causing discrepancies and building preventative controls.
  • Partner with IT and RevOps to define system and automation requirements.
  • Be the primary liaison between Renewals Operations and BI/Data teams, and a trusted partner to Sales, Finance, Legal, and Customer Success on renewal goals, definitions, and standards.
  • Bring structured thinking to new GTM programs and strategic initiatives, shaping strategy rather than just supporting it.
