About The Position

The Manager, People (Assignment: People Transition Services) is accountable for leading the end-to-end preboarding experience, ensuring every new team member receives a seamless, welcoming, and supportive journey from offer acceptance through start readiness. This role also supports key team member transition processes, including processing terminations and transfers. The Manager, People is expected to drive process improvement across communication, reporting, compliance, and stakeholder experience. This role is different because the Manager, People at WelbeHealth: Owns the end-to-end employee transition experience, leading the operational strategy and execution of preboarding, internal transfers, and offboarding while ensuring a seamless, compliant, and service-oriented experience for team members, hiring managers, and business leaders. Combines people leadership with process transformation, overseeing a high-performing team while continuously improving employee lifecycle processes, strengthening cross-functional partnerships, and driving operational excellence across Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Workday, and onboarding vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, operations, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Progressive experience in people operations, onboarding, preboarding, shared services, employee transitions, or related employee lifecycle operations or leadership roles, in a high-volume environment
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience managing end-to-end preboarding, onboarding, or employee lifecycle processes with strong attention to detail, service, compliance, and accurate system processing
  • Experience supporting both full-time and contractor hiring processes preferred, including understanding of distinct documentation, workflow, and stakeholder requirements
  • Experience processing or supporting team member terminations, transfers, job changes, or similar employee lifecycle transactions preferred
  • Strong people leadership capabilities with a track record of coaching, developing, and motivating teams while maintaining high standards for execution and service
  • Strong process improvement mindset with demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and enhance stakeholder and new hire experiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end preboarding process for all full-time and contractor hires, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience
  • Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure tight, timely hand-offs once a candidate is offered a position, maintaining clear ownership of all preboarding activities until the new hire is ready to start
  • Serve as a primary point of support for new hires throughout the preboarding journey, providing proactive communication, answering questions, resolving issues, and ensuring they feel informed and welcomed at every step
  • Ensure hiring managers, leaders, and key stakeholders are informed of progress, requirements, upcoming milestones, and any risks or delays that may impact a new hire’s start readiness, as well as manage the preboarding workflow through ServiceNow, ensuring tasks are accurately initiated, tracked, escalated, and completed within defined service levels
  • Lead and develop a team of People Assistants and People Coordinators responsible for executing the preboarding experience and select People transition support processes by setting expectations, coaching performance, removing barriers, and ensuring excellent service delivery in a high-volume environment
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance the new hire experience, stakeholder communications, operational efficiency, reporting visibility, and overall preboarding quality
  • Partner with onboarding vendors, including background check and occupational health providers, as well as compliance and internal stakeholders, to ensure all required preboarding activities are completed accurately and in alignment with policy and regulatory requirements
