About The Position

Quality Manager is responsible for managing both business systems and quality functional activities within a site to deliver customer satisfaction and high-quality modules. This key position is the voice of the customer in our assembly plants and the coach for problem solving and system adherence on site.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, including at least 2 years in an automotive manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Strong commitment to personal, team, and operational excellence, with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on achieving world-class performance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to make decisions, solve problems, and drive improvements using tools such as PDCA, Pareto charts, 8D, 5 Why, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
  • Strong understanding of APQP processes, including working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, and ISO 9001 or IATF 16949:2016 quality systems.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts related to automated assembly equipment, product assemblies, tooling, fixtures, gauges, or similar production environments.
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions, influence stakeholders, and mentor and develop team members.
  • Customer-focused approach with a strong sense of urgency, excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced automotive assembly or sequencing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for reporting, analysis, and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Own site-level product quality, customer satisfaction, and quality system performance to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality modules.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key quality metrics, including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), scrap, First Time Through Quality (FTTQ), and other site performance indicators.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across supplier, internal, and customer quality activities, using data and key metrics to prioritize opportunities and drive measurable results.
  • Manage internal, third-party, and customer audit processes, including documentation requirements, corrective actions, and follow-up activities to maintain certifications and strengthen customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships while serving as the voice of the customer within the plant.
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant quality team members and customer liaisons, ensuring effective use of quality tools, methodologies, and standard work.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by coaching plant teams on problem-solving tools, process management, measurement techniques, statistical analysis, and quality system adherence.
  • Use root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone to identify, prevent, and correct failures within the assembly process.
  • Validate and support the development of verification methods, error-proofing practices, and process controls at the site.
