About The Position

This role is for a Manager of Finance who will work with an elite team of accounting and finance professionals. The position supports value-based care payor contracts and performance evaluation of these contracts. The work involves financial analysis to support rate negotiations, new member growth, and strategic business decisions. Value-based care is a primary growth pillar for UnitedHealth Group, and this team will help drive future growth and strategy. The role offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. For hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, working in the office a minimum of four days per week is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a finance-related field
  • Demonstrated solid financial, analytical, and business acumen
  • Ability to apply financial modeling expertise to support analysis and decision‑making
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite, and other technology tools

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop one financial analyst supporting market-level analysis and regional consolidations
  • Coordinate the quarterly forecasting process, including accurate and timely delivery of the financial plan in line with both regional and corporate timeframes and guidelines
  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional leaders to ensure the financial plan represents the input of the entire business
  • Distill multifaceted financial data into meaningful insights and narratives for senior regional stakeholders
  • Hold primary responsibility, in partnership with a direct report, for forecasting, monthly reporting, and variance analysis for two care delivery organizations (CDOs) in the region
  • Provide business partner support for CDO operational and clinical leadership
  • Update and develop standardized reporting for regional financial review as needed
  • Participate and/or lead a variety of ad-hoc projects
  • Leverage technology and best practices to drive efficiencies and improved analytics
