About The Position

As the Manager of Digital Marketing at POD Marketing, you will lead a multidisciplinary team. This role combines deep subject matter expertise with strategic oversight, operational leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll be accountable for the overall performance, innovation, and financial health of the department, while ensuring alignment with client goals and broader company objectives. This role sits within our Dental and Eye Care divisions (SmileShop Dental Marketing and Marketing4ECPs), working directly with practice owners to build and execute marketing strategies for their practices.

Requirements

  • Legally able to work in Canada and located in Calgary, AB
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on SEO, paid media, social media and/or email marketing
  • At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role with a focus on people development and operational performance
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or client relationship management
  • Strong experience with marketing tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, SEMrush, Paid Media platforms, Active Demand, Hootsuite, and Canva
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing departmental budgets or P&Ls
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving innovation
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead through influence

Responsibilities

  • Assume ultimate responsibility for the department's performance and financial health, overseeing financial management.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies in alignment with client and organizational KPIs.
  • Lead and manage a team, conducting regular performance reviews and 1-on-1s.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex client issues, providing solutions that maintain client trust and department integrity.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental communication to ensure alignment of objectives and identify collaborative opportunities.
  • Support innovation within the department, guiding the development and refinement of services and products based on industry trends and performance data.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the strategic planning and direction of the department, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and assess departmental KPIs, making data-driven decisions to guide the team toward strategic goals.
  • Implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing team members, aiming for operational excellence.
  • Continuously stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure we are ahead of the curve.
