The Meadows Psychiatric Center is the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central Pennsylvania, located a short distance outside State College, PA. It is a 119 inpatient behavioral health hospital that has been providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults for over 35 years. The Meadows is seeking two Full Time, Mental Health Technician Managers. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Two years’ experience in the Mental Health Field required.
  • Mental health technician experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to providing a high level of care to patients of all ages.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance to work profile.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in a Human Services field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising all aspects of the facilities Mental Health Technicians.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the facility at all times by monitoring the movement of the units, ensuring programming is followed, and supporting direct care staff.
  • Implementation and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Managing staff performance through coaching and supervision, execution of performance reviews, improvement plans, and corrective actions.
  • Supporting the facility mission and treatment team for providing a safe environment.
  • Assisting in total patient care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches within the therapeutic environment.
  • Providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Providing real-time supervision and support to MHT staff on the units, mentoring staff, and setting high expectations for the MHT role.
  • Implementation of education, training, and orientation programs.
  • Assisting with psychiatric emergencies and crisis drills as needed.
  • Working with Nurse Managers and Staffing Coordinator to manage shift schedules for MHTs to maintain unit assignments and proper staffing ratios while maximizing workflow, minimizing overtime/missed meal breaks, and maintaining the safety and security of the units.
  • Covering shifts as needed to ensure proper staffing ratios.
