About The Position

The American Dental Education (ADEA) is looking to add a talented Manager, Learning and Continuing Education to its team. The Manager, Learning and Continuing Education provides daily management and ongoing development of professional development programming within ADEA’s Office of Learning, including but not limited to coordinating virtual and in-person learning experiences, managing eLearn programming, and supporting the work of the Continuing Education Advisory Committee (CEAC). The incumbent will collaborate with the Director, Educational Programming and Technology and other Office of Learning team members as they collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design and implement innovative and relevant professional development opportunities for ADEA’s members.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional education and experience required.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience, including project and program management.
  • Prior experience working in an academic, association or a non-profit environment is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), PDF, Qualtrics, and webinar/meeting software such as Zoom/Teams.
  • Ability to learn new technologies as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and LMS website management.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete compliance records.
  • Must possess excellent judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and professional discretion with information.
  • Attention to detail, deadline orientation and flexibility required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, confident, proactive and comfortable working independently.
  • Poise, tact, and diplomacy, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a diverse team environment and collaborate effectively with others.
  • The capacity to handle multiple tasks and the ability to remain positive and productive in demanding situations.
  • Ability to travel to member meetings to support ADEA events as needed, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all technical and logistical aspects of live ADEA eLearn webinars, as directed by VP, eLearn, including but not limited to: Speaker correspondence and management (e.g. scheduling the event, planning call, speaker agreements, content development, technical support for speaker, etc.). Registration build and management in the LMS. Moderation and production of live events (e.g. handling audience interaction through features like polls and Q&A, ensuring smooth transitions between content, and troubleshooting technical issues). Post-production editing and assessments, registration and evaluation report generation, and customer support.
  • In collaboration with the VP, eLearn, assist in speaker identification and recruitment, development and production of webinars as directed.
  • Support the Director, Educational Programming and Technology in developing and maintaining a resource library with a unified appearance across resource materials, including teaching resources, modular curricula, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with other ADEA staff members to prepare and manage the virtual and hybrid course content within the LMS, including but not limited to developing courses in the LMS, providing technical orientation to course facilitators, and providing user support throughout course.
  • Support the work of the ADEA Continuing Education Advisory Committee (CEAC) and staff liaison by managing the logistics of CEAC’s virtual and in-person meetings, assisting with agendas and meeting minutes, establishing and monitoring timelines, preparing and sending correspondence, collecting and disseminating materials, and performing all follow-up functions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Leadership Programs and Manager, Learning Analytics in overseeing the review and document retention of all ADEA learning in which CE is provided to ensure ongoing compliance with Commission on Continuing Education Provider Recognition. This includes but is not limited to: Maintaining a document repository of CERP-related materials in the Office of Learning, including speaker agreements, speaker presentations (including learning objectives and content), speaker disclosures, assignment of CE credits, and all collateral materials for ADEA’s organization-wide CE activities.
  • Monitor and update content on the ADEA website to maintain compliance of published materials, both current and historical.
  • Work with ADEA staff and CE presenters across the Association to ensure learning content conforms with CERP requirements.
  • Support the Director, Leadership Programs with development of quarterly CEAC reports for the ADEA Board and ADEA CEAC.
  • Support the primary staff liaison to the Business and Financial Administration and Clinic Administration (BFACA) member volunteer group, including facilitating execution of their annual meeting and other activities as assigned.
