Position Summary Leverages technology and data to improve healthcare outcomes by designing, implementing, and maintaining health information systems, analyzing healthcare data, and utilizing technology to support clinical workflows and decision-making. Applies expertise in healthcare and information technology to ensure efficient data management, promote data-driven insights, and enhance the delivery of healthcare services. Assesses the requirements of the informatics department and identifies integration opportunities for new technologies and system processes. Assists the informatics team in the management of the data, reporting, and analytics function to help internal teams draw meaningful conclusions. Coaches the informatics team on how to apply statistical and computational methods to analyze research data. Conducts thorough literature reviews to understand the current state of knowledge data management, information systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Confers with industry partners on ways to apply research findings to real-world settings to advance industry knowledge. Designs a documentation system for the informatics system to outline system specifications, architectural diagrams, and user guides. The resource will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Python to support the migration and modernization of HEDIS data workflow Develops complex data migration systems to coordinate with data management teams to ensure accuracy in transferring information into new informatics systems. Establishes a testing system for the informatics department to ensure defined requirements and functions are met. This resource will help accelerate the HEDIS Digital Transformation strategy by improving data ingestion, validation, processing, and reporting capabilities while ensuring the efficient integration of supplemental data required for quality measurement and regulatory reporting. As an Informatics Manager, you will: Become a subject matter expert in clinical data, with deep understanding of how to structure and apply this data to solve healthcare problems. Develop analytics by building well-documented, validated, and reusable data assets (tables, views, features) that empower analysts and data scientists to work independently with clinical data. Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation, including data dictionaries, lineage, business logic, known limitations, and appropriate use guidelines for clinical datasets. Build queries, dashboards, and data visualizations to effectively communicate data quality metrics, data availability, and clinical insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The resource will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Python to support the migration and modernization of HEDIS data workflow Collaborate with data engineering teams to inform data pipeline development, ensuring clinical data is ingested, transformed, and stored in ways that support downstream analytics needs. Requirements

  • 5+ Years of relevant experience in clinical informatics, healthcare analytics, or clinical data management.
  • 5+ Years experience coding in SQL and Python and experience working with large-scale healthcare datasets.
  • Familiar with clinical data types and structures, including CCD data, lab results, clinical notes, and administrative healthcare data.
  • Ability to support downstream data consumers (analysts, data scientists, business users) through documentation, training, and consultative support.
  • Familiar using cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools including BigQuery, for querying, transforming, and managing data.
  • Understanding of data quality principles, including validation, profiling, and monitoring of healthcare data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex clinical data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare data platform experience with strong understanding of interoperability standards.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and HIEs.
  • Experience using standardized clinical code systems (e.g., ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, UMLS).
  • Experience in ETL design & implementation from heterogeneous clinical sources into different data standards.
  • Reside near Scottsdale AZ
