About The Position

The House Manager is responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of the UMSL Catholic Newman Center. The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Requirements

  • Approximately 6 hours a week, depending on personal schedule and the Center’s needs as discussed with the Campus Minister.
  • Criminal background check

  • Drug screen
  • Employment and educational licensure/certification verification
  • Health screening
  • Any other screenings deemed necessary for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly cleaning of kitchen (dishes, counters, floors, doormats, trash, restocking supplies, replacing towels)
  • Weekly cleaning of dining room (organizing, wiping tables, restocking napkins)
  • Weekly cleaning of living room (fluffing pillows, sweeping/vacuuming)
  • Weekly cleaning of bathrooms (toilet, sink, floors, trash, replacing towels and toilet paper)
  • Sweep all floors; vacuum chapel and study room
  • Collect and take out trash and recycling from all bins in house
  • Restock supplies (soap and towels in bathrooms and kitchen, toilet paper, paper towels)
  • Bi-weekly cleaning: Dust chapel (dust everything, also use broom to get rid of spider webs)
  • Bi-weekly cleaning: Throw out old food in fridge
  • Monthly cleaning: Mop kitchen and bathrooms
  • Monthly cleaning: Clean bathroom mirrors
  • Other duties and tasks provided by the Campus Minister.
