The Global Commercial Finance (GCF) department manages the financial and commercial aspects of our biggest global clients. GCF partners with agency leadership on client negotiations, introduces innovative compensation models, provides global financial leadership and best practices, and plays a critical role in new business pitches. The role is highly commercial and client-focused, involving consolidation and review of large data sets, as well as interface with regional and local market finance teams. The Global Client Finance Manager will support the GCF team in managing these global client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or economics
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deliver results, whether by taking initiative, managing through influence, or motivating teams through obstacles
  • Excellent time management skills with flexibility and adaptability

Responsibilities

  • With other key members, analyse regional / local market data to prepare the final pitch submission
  • Consolidate and summarize large amounts of data into excel for VP/SVP to review
  • Ensure completeness of client deliverable templates by liaising with regional / local markets
  • Once the client is won, communicate key terms to markets and work with local agencies to ensure all financial issues/queries and procedures are working smoothly in the first few months

  • We lead annual fee negotiations for our Global clients. The Manager will create data collection templates, consolidate local market proposals into Excel along with support by our Analyst, and perform an analytical review prior to review by the VP/SVP.
  • Within our contracts with clients, there are certain reporting requirements (e.g. rebate forecasts, unbilled media, staff tracking reporting). The Manager will work with our Analyst and regional / local markets to collect the relevant data and review the data
  • Work with Global Account Leads in ad-hoc finance needs while servicing the account.
  • Manage preparation of client Scope of Work (SOW), contract development/reporting (with legal)
  • Perform client profitability analysis to identify financial issues, and to inform client remuneration renegotiations.
  • Be a point of contact for markets to reach out with any questions regarding reporting requirements.
  • Assist in data collection and reporting for global client audits and consulting engagements.
  • Proactively ensure compliance across international markets prior to audits. Work as a main point of contact with regional finance teams to ensure all deliverables are on track to meet required client deadlines.
  • Support OM leadership and GCL with ad-hoc financial information and reports, sourcing data from various financial systems and files.

Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
