About The Position

The Manager - General Services manages the full scope of programs and projects for the General Services organization, including services, systems, budgets, and process improvement. The role provides technical expertise and leadership, benchmarks processes, supports global benchmarking and best-practice implementation, and coordinates standardization across Avangrid companies and IBERDROLA S.A. The manager supervises and mentors direct reports, coordinates project teams and stakeholders, and ensures programs and projects align with corporate strategy and objectives. The position is office-based five days a week in Rochester, New York, and requires weekly travel.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of program or project management experience.
Experience serving as a team member or team lead on at least two major projects or programs.
Strong organizational skills.
Extensive project-management skills covering safety, planning, scope, integration, time, financial analysis, risk management, communications, human resources, quality, procurement, and contract and contractor management.
Ability to perform global benchmarking, estimate budgets, and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
Strategic thinking and ability to identify clear goals and priorities that advance the Company's mission.
Flexibility and adaptability; ability to drive and sustain change; commitment and follow-through to meet project deadlines.
Geographic mobility and ability to travel weekly.
Strong management and leadership skills, vendor-management skills, presentation and communication skills, safety orientation, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and leadership on Company projects and programs associated with General Services.
Manage initiatives to develop and enhance General Services systems, including Archibus, and address global integration requirements.
Manage and coordinate project-team work activities; provide periodic progress reports to senior management and Steering Committees; and hold regular status meetings.
Estimate, prepare, approve, and control budgets for General Services programs and projects, including Fleet, Facilities, Management Systems, Document Management, Business Support, Real Estate, Building Projects, and Space Management.
Benchmark General Services business-process performance and support global benchmarking, best-practice identification, standardization, and implementation.
Coordinate common processes and protocols across Avangrid and IBERDROLA S.A., working with Avangrid Networks, Renewables, and Gas Holdings teams.
Advise management on alignment of programs and projects with corporate strategy and objectives, and consult on budgets and economic impacts.
Prepare project and program plans and budgets, monitor progress against them, and report on schedules and costs.
Act as liaison among cross-functional project teams and hold team members accountable for results.
Lead direct reports and project-team members, provide expertise and timely decision-making, and secure internal or external resources as needed.
Manage and administer contracts, prepare and approve change orders when appropriate, and participate in contract negotiations when necessary.
Promote safety and strong customer service, and use vendor-management, presentation, and communication skills.
