Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech We are searching for the best talent for a Manager, Category & Insights to join our J&J Surgical Vision team. This position can be based in Irvine, CA or Jacksonville, FL. Purpose: The Manager, Category & Insights will lead the insight analytic function within US Surgical Vision, delivering timely, accurate, and actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making and prioritization. This role is also responsible for advancing data-driven solutions and automation (including GenAI and conversational AI) that produce measurable business outcomes. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, align cross-functionally, and work with technical experts and partners to scale reliable, compliant, and cost-effective analytics and insights to support shaping strategic decisions for both short-term and long-term health of the US Surgical Vision business.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required; academic background in data science, engineering, business or a related field is preferred.
  • 6-8 years business experience is required; medical device, pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs, or a related function is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build alignment and drive execution across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and project prioritization skills.
  • Ability to structure complex issues, set priorities, and lead initiatives to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to AI, analytics, data science, or automation is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working with technical experts or external vendors to implement solutions is an advantage.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional experts to translate insights into digital channel development and/or omnichannel strategy is an advantage.
  • Experience working in regulated environments or driving initiatives with compliance considerations is preferred.
  • Strong leadership by influence.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic agility, business acumen, and the ability to connect organizational priorities with execution.
  • Sufficient understanding of analytics, AI, and automation concepts to guide decision-making and partner effectively with technical specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate internal and external insight and analytics to understand areas of opportunity and threat for the US Surgical Vision business.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify high-value opportunities, align priorities, and drive execution.
  • Translate business needs into practical analytics and conclusions.
  • Provide leadership across the lifecycle of insights and analytics, from problem framing and prioritization to implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear and actionable recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Leverage insights to shape and execute strategy development in collaboration with subject matter experts and partner functions.
