We're looking for a Manager, Business Relations & Delivery Services to help shape and deliver some of Alberta's most important health technology initiatives. In this role, you'll lead a talented team, partner with executive leaders and stakeholders across government and the health system, and help ensure that major digital investments deliver real value for Albertans. This is an opportunity for a strategic thinker, relationship builder, and delivery-focused leader who enjoys bringing people together to solve complex challenges and turn ambitious plans into tangible results. As the Manager, Business Relations & Delivery Services, you'll provide leadership for the Ministry's project and portfolio delivery functions, helping guide initiatives from concept through implementation and benefits realization. You'll also play a key role in enabling high-profile digital health initiatives that improve service delivery, accessibility, and integration across Alberta's health system. You're a confident leader who knows how to balance strategy, delivery, governance, and people leadership.

Requirements

  • University graduation in a field related Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a related field supplemented by four (4) years related experience.
  • Significant experience delivering large and complex IM/IT projects and initiatives.
  • Experience leading teams and developing high-performing staff.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with vendor management, procurement, and contract oversight.
  • Strong project, portfolio, financial, and governance management capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within government or the broader public sector.
  • Experience managing outsource vendors and service providers.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience working within healthcare or health technology environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of strategic Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) initiatives and portfolios that support Ministry and health system priorities.
  • Support business case development, project investment planning, prioritization, and governance activities.
  • Provide oversight of project budgets, expenditures, risks, performance, and benefits realization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders, program areas, delivery partners, and vendors.
  • Guide procurement, contract management, and vendor partnerships in a complex multi-vendor environment.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, creating an environment where people can learn, grow, and do their best work.
  • Lead the Project and Portfolio office and drive continuous improvement of project, portfolio, and governance practices across the organization.
