It requires setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinating work activities with other supervisors. Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures, with guidance and oversight from a manager. This role involves the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, records, verifies, analyzes and reports accounts payable/receivable transactions
  • Pays vendor invoices and receives and posts customer payments on a timely basis
  • Maintains and reconciles accounts payable/receivable ledger accounts, financial statements and reports
  • Prepares analyses and reconciliations of bill runs to detect fraud
  • Ensures that transaction entry verification procedures are followed
  • May prepare and deliver low-volume customer billing and respond to resulting queries
  • Supervises and guides the day-to-day operational activities of an organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Maintains and reconciles the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments.
  • Implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and control reports.
  • Monitors collection period and sends follow-up inquiries regarding payments for the organization.
  • Negotiates with past-due accounts to resolve all payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings or process improvements and relays conclusions to management.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.
