The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Aging Services (DAS), Adult Protective Services (APS) is seeking candidates for the position of Adult Protective Services District Manager. This position is open to candidates statewide; the location will be determined by location of the candidate selected. Pay Grade: L Serves as primary liaison between APS Field Operations Manager and APS Regional Supervisors for all aspects of administrative and programmatic functions on the district level. Provides expert technical assistance and direction to regional/ field staff in matters of daily operations/ APS service delivery system. Regularly monitors operations within assigned APS District to identify problems/issues that warrant further study and/or action. Provides accurate information to Supervisors / field staff in a clear, effective & timely manner. Confer with APS state office staff on a regular basis regarding client and employee related issues. Develops/deploys goals & objectives consistent with Departmental and Division (mission/ vision/values) strategic planning. Serves as an advocate for change. Participates in formulating implementation strategies/plans that meet the needs, goals and objectives of APS. Share information routinely with peers related to program management, personnel related issues and other relevant matters. Participates in APS Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related supervisory experience in a human service delivery program; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Adult Protective Svcs CM Spv (SSP173) or position equivalent; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level APS Intake CM Spv (SSP183) or position equivalent; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Adult Guardianship CM Spv (SSP193) or position equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years’ experience as an APS supervisor.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a vehicle for required work-related activities.
